The proper question to ask is, do I need effects to help achieve how I envision the video... If you think of Effects as popularity adders, then they've failed already

The thing about that is, though, that sometimes playing around with effects can change one's vision, whether for better or for worse. You know, finding out what the program's capable of and all that.
You might find something effective that you wouldn't have thought of originally -- you may not have thought to envision it until you actually see it on the screen.

No, barn doors
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I not against experimenting.. And yes, if you find something that works better, then your vision changes and you use that effect to that end..

My point is not to put the effects in just because everyone else is doing it or because effects make your video more popular...

Just don't bother. It's too much effort. Paint it Black spent so much time, and look what IT got.

I think it's time for Sarah's inevitable graph, yet again. :)

Discretion.

It always just boils down to discretion.

On a side note, that graph kills me.
