...what Pwolf said before the frat-house part kicked in. When you say "impatient," the word you want is "lazy." If you truly are in a hurry, stop. The idea will still be there when you get back.
If you read the guides and don't understand a part of them, ask somebody - not AD, apparently, heh - about
that specific part and they may help you.
Though then, I spent four or five emails talking about AMV basics to somebody only to find out that the whole thing was a joke.
Don't expect to know everything at once. It's like studying. OMGLEARNINGEWWW! If that's too hard for you, find a new hobby. AMV making is expensive and the learning curve is steep, but it's fun once you start to learn your way around. And hell, I never learned how to make proper AMVs. I just stumble around like a jackass making whatever I like. It's fun. But even that took about a year of trial and error and reading the Guides and trying to understand how they worked in practice.
Oh, speaking of which, if you learn better by practice than by reading, pick a random source and a random song and mock up a practice "video" while you read the Guides. Don't release it. And don't freak out over how it looks. Just practice how to manage files and such. That may be a help. I read the Guides, but a lot of it didn't sink into my dense brain until I actually tried it out.
