Hello Everyone,
I’m new to the forum and I’m in the process of trying to understand how to make an Anime Music Video reading all the guides. About a year ago I found a way of capturing Playstation cut scene footage to VHS tape and wondered if anyone else used this method.
I’ve got my PS2 connected to an old computer monitor which has the standard Red, White and Yellow Inputs.
I bought from Malin three Phono splitter cables

So I can connect the feed to the monitor and then connect the other input to a Scart In Socket like this one:

Then I connect that to the back of a VHS video recorder and record straight to tape when the scene is on screen.
I’ve been putting together collections of cut scenes I liked for quite a while and I’m now thinking of investing in a way of capturing all this footage to my PC to make Anime Music Videos.
I’m probably stating a real obvious beginners way of doing it but I just wondered if anyone else was using this method.

If you want to use cut scenes from PS2 to make an AMV,
I suggest directly capturing it into the PC,
rather then from PS2>VHS>then to PC.
You would need
-a capture card
-a S-video cable for PS2
^That's the equipment on the top of my head right now.
Plug in the S-Video cable from the PS2 into the capture card.
Configure the PCcapture settings and you should be able to play and capture on your PC monitor.
Oh, and make sure the PS2 game is considered approriate footage here, or its not allowed here.

Thanks
Thankyou for the reply I know it was a beginners question. That makes more sense, I'm still going through the guides on this site to try and make the best choice of hardware to buy.
I really want to make an AMV using the cut scenes in the Tenchu series, I was listening to a song and it just hit me how it fitted two of the characters. I hope that's appropriate footage.

Re: Thanks
Pretty decent question in my opinion, seeing as we have no guide for it.dpool wrote:Thankyou for the reply I know it was a beginners question. That makes more sense, I'm still going through the guides on this site to try and make the best choice of hardware to buy.

As for the game called Tenchu....
I don't know.
I recommend you PM AbsoluteDestiny to see if it's allowed here.
