When your pc is all screwed up, the best thing for it is always a nice format.
Codecs: Only install the ones you need. For playback, just get ffdshow and maybe medic player classic.
Drivers: get the latest drivers for your video card, and any devices you have that might need drivers.
Software: I consider Firefox and Spybot mandatory. And don't go around installing weird shareware programs.

? what's the best Editer out today ? - there all about the same!
If you like Progressive video's then use MediaMania 4 or Asymetrix 7.
( don't go looking for these on the web, there not one the web anymore! )
If you want to hack and sclash, Adobe and AiST can do that.
. All can use Adobe's After Affects. - check the guides.
Codec?
Xvid and Huffy - check the guides

Um, by "progressive" do you mean "one full frame displayed at a time" or "liberal and envelope-pushing"?post-it wrote:If you like Progressive video's then use MediaMania 4 or Asymetrix 7.

So can programs like Magix Whatever-it's-called-now, for much less. I checked out that link that someone posted for AiST the last time you recommended it, and it looked pretty cool... but it cost twice as much as Adobe Premiere.post-it wrote:If you want to hack and sclash, Adobe and AiST can do that.

I suggest consulting the software list sticky for more affordable (and some not so affordable) alternatives.

. granted - AiST stuff is expensive, and a pain for Newbe's, but I like the
freedom of working with Compressed Files ( So I pay the difference. )
. The only thing I do not like about Primiere/AiST are that they won't be updated
to "finisher" Encoder/Editers.. Which reminds me; besides Descreet 6.0,
what other Finisher Encoders are there? - I guess I never gave it much thought!

So you like your video to look like ass? Because thats what compressing compressed footage does, man.post-it wrote:. granted - AiST stuff is expensive, and a pain for Newbe's, but I like the

And as for not being updated... Premiere 6.0 -> 6.2 (i have that, it does exist) -> 6.5 ->7.0 (Pro 1.0) -> Pro 1.5.
That looks like updating to me.

oh, no no no no... you've already stated that AiST uses COMPRESSED footage. So what is it, compressed footage or uncompressed images?post-it wrote:? AiST uses the uncompressed images .....what does this have to do with
Descreet 6.0 and finishing Encoders
And what the hell is a "finishing" encoder?
