How Can a Vid Be Scary?
I havn't really seen a movie in a long time thats really had any scary effect so I was wondering how could a vid be scary and if there are any on here. Most things in movies rely on surprise to scare someone.

It really depends on how you are defining 'scary'. I'd say that you would have to play on a phobia, such as spiders, being buried alive, or falling.
When I watched the second part of Kill Bill in the movie theaters, the part where one of the characters does in fact get buried alive had quite a few people squirming in their seats. There were no big surprises, no spring loaded cats or anything like that.
For a video, you've only got a couple of minutes to establish your theme and character, so you can't really use the luxury of 'setting the mood' as much.

Build a man a fire, and he will be warm for a night. Set a man on fire, and he will be warm for the rest of his life.

no..bvecause if your arachnophobic(scared of spiders) they don't creep you out...they put so much terror in you that you freeze, and shake uncontrolably untill you are SURE it is gone(i have this phobia).
Getting creeped out by something is not a phobia, its like lots of girls are creeped out by bugs, but they are not afraid of them.
But one thing you need to realize, is that even if you have a large phobia about something....seeing it on TV and seeing it irl is a lot different, so while you can try to play on a phobia, you might want to pick an audio track that keeps saying "This is you, and this will happen" in a subliminal level ^_^

No, not really.
At least not in my case.
Though AMV like any other media can swell emotions in you.
Like MindWarp Entertaintment "Faces of Death".
The first time I saw it, did think it was a tad twisted.
But loved it nonetheless.
Same with Aluminum Studios "Crossroads".
That girl keeps dieing but from the first watch it has become on of my favorites.
Those two are the only ones close to "scary" and they're not scary at all.
Although if you watch them on a never ending loop...
You may become a serial killer/suicide victim.
Go watch now!!!
Why bother? Cookies.
