Blocked AVI source???

I want to make a Naruto AMV, so I picked up my CDs with my fansubbed episodes (no altenative, 'm on 56K and there's nowhere to buy it) and load them on Premiere. Up to pisode 56 and from episode 87 up, there's no problem but if I try using clips from the episodes, Premiere just shuts down. I tried fixing it in VirtualDub, but it couldn't even play the file ("unspecified error (-100)"). Media Player Classic play the files normally though. What could be the problem? (Please don't flame me for the sub part, I know it's crappy but there's nothing I can do about it)

Well, I hope you arent editing the Divx fansubs in Premiere as it is.
Did you convert them to huffYUV?
Having around 80 episodes of huffYUV would become an insane file size, you should choose only the ones you need.

But VirtualDub also can't work with the files. It shows "Unspecified Error (-100) Data May Be Corrupt". But the data isn't corrupt because I can watch the episodes normally in Media Player Classic (I also tried Windows Media Player and RadLight and they worked fine as well). So is there any other way to convert them???
