Favorite castings in trailer videos

Post by Quiet Cannon » Mon Aug 30, 2004 4:14 am

One of the things I like about trailer videos is how some anime characters are cast into the roles of similar (or sometimes completely different) characters in the trailer. I wanted to know what you think are some of the best (or maybe even worst) castings in videos. As for some of my favorites:

Spike Spiegel as Tommy Verceti in Grand Theft Bebop 2: Vice City

"The token black guy" from Not Another One!
I don't know who that anime character is, but his scenes in the video were very funny.

Ghim as Gimli in The Lord of the Animes: The Fellowship of the Anime
That just seemed like an obvious match.

And I hope you don't mind if I plug my own video (signature), but I thought Ryoji Kaji as Solid Snake and Shinji Ikari as Raiden were good matches.
Final Doom "Amazing things will happen here soon."

Neon Genesis Evangelion: Substance "Everyone knows that it's a dangerous substance."

Hi,
I hate to be obnoxious, since I'm relatively new in the video editing community, but if you enjoy trailers do please check out my monstrosity:

The featured anime is Azumanga Daioh, and the subject is the three Lord of the Rings trailers. Cast list is included.
Please enjoy^^

Hey Altecha, Lone Wolf and I watched your trailer yesterday, and we could not stop laughing. Great job on that, man!

Also QC, the character that is The Token Black Guy is Mr. Popo from Dragonball Z.

Another great casting job is everyone in YCSTR's Eva-Man.

Some of the funnier castings that I've enjoyed:

-Kimura-sensei as Gollum
-Gendou Ikari as Captain Hank Murphy ("HOLY CRAP!!!")
-Beck as the dog from the Men in Black films
-R. Dorthey Wayneright as Agent K
