must download amv's faster!

Bah, there is always something better. I used to think my adsl was all kick ass till my school installed a T1 line in my classroom.

In all honesty, I think that the advent of broadband has made a lot of webmasters lazy. Why bother to optimize your webpage, when so many people have fast connections right?

If you ARE on a 56k line then you might want to look into a download accelerator with a resume function, I can't say you'll get 'much' greater speed with one, but you should be able to pause and resume downloads for when you need to kill your phone connection. Broadband users should avoid accelerators, since they rape the bandwidth of websites.

why can i only download 2 amv at a time? is there a way to download faster? i dl the potato song it took 2 min. on my computer, thats to long! then i dl it for my sister on her computer, it took 2 and a half hours!!! (i hate 56k!) after i download 10 amv and try to dowmload an other avm the opinition thing pops up and after i fill it out it wont let get the song! its hard enuff to try to dl the amv let alone try to remember what i just saw!

Wait the limited downloads are due to IE's default internet settings I think.
Internet Explorer only allows you to download 2 things at a time at default.
Theres a way to download more than 2 things at once in Internet Explorer by changing settings. This is for all you high speed internet users that doesn't use speed for advantage to full effect.

You can't be more wrong here... I've had enough IE downloads going on dialup to fill the taskbar down to get just the icon showing (98se). I then did the same thing on cable, except I think I had around 15-20 downloads going in IE... It's the Donut that limits each use to 2 vids at a time to prevent bandwidth hogging. Say, for instance, you get someone who is new and has a high speed connection. They've been here for 2 weeks and have just started to download. Lets say they find around 20 AMVs they want. Now, if the .Org server has a limited number of connections, then said n00b is filling 20 of the slots. By limiting this to 2, there are many more free slots avaliable. This doesn't matter on direct or indirect downloads, only Local.

I'm not sure of the specifics, but either derobert, paizuri or AD could tell you because they are the only ones with full access to the server.

I dunno how the server works but IE's default settings limit downloads to 2 at a time unless changed otherwise...
