when it comes to "1-10", people sometimes forget that there are numbers less than 7.pen-pen2002 wrote:...The_Collection wrote:5! thats to high! i cant count pass 2!
I'm speechless.
If anything 5 is too low, it should really be 1-10 so there would be some levels between "average" and "very good."

You just need to edit your registry. I have mine set for ten at a time, although I hardly ever use them all.
Alternatively you could use something like Mozilla, or Firefox that has different rules.
Feel free to look up the exact directions on the internet for your OS.

I just want to take this moment to say how much I love The_Collection. S/he has made my evening, posted the funniest post I've ever seen on this forum, and started the most memorable thread I've seen on this forum so far. The_Collection, I love you, and I'd propose, but sadly, I don't know your gender.
As for my fellow 56Kers well...theres not much to be done about the 3
hour long downloads. I recommend finding videos and downloading them when you have something else to do (such as, say, sleeping).
My problem really isn't waiting, its just I wish there was a way to pause/resume local downloads, so it becomes difficult to download over my shared phoneline.

Yeah, it takes me about an hour every 15MB...so 60MB would = 4 hoursThe limit of two videos at a time never really bothered me because they download so fast but I never thought that it wold take hours to download a video if I was using a 56k modem. And I was getting mad when it would take 8 minutes.
I feel sorry for all of you that have 56ks.

But if you think thats bad, you should try uploading over 56K...my lastest video (the one listed in my sig) unlike my others I decided to make it an MPEG and it took 8 hours to upload...yes 8 hours (its 39MB)...thats why the rest of my vids are encoded in Windows Media because uploading anything over 20MB on dialup is just insane...like myself.

You know I've heard alot of weird stories from broadband users who used to have 56K, such as this one, where it was a really horrendous situation. Either 56K has gotten 'alot better', or I'm just lucky. The only problem with my 56K is the speed , but thats because its 56K.I used to have 56K on my old computer and it would freeze if I kept it on for any longer than 6 hours
Its all I've ever had though, so eh, I can't even imagine having something faster...oh how I'd give anything to have cable or DSL.
