You made the only comment on my vid so I thought it only
fair to respond in kind and downloaded the above AMV :)
Warning: there's spoilers below.
The overall mood was very well established, because even
though I didn't understand the song it just "felt" right. I
personally do not hold effects in high esteem so it's
nice to see you accomplish this through good editing.
Technically I think there might be a glitch at 00:52, as
there is a very brief greyscale flash. It might have been
on purpose, though, but if so it's hardly perceptible and
you might want to make it a few fractions of a second longer.
Storywise would only make one suggestion: you show the
couple getting shot early on, and then twice again. I
think perhaps that instead of showing it the first time you
might want to use a less straighforward scene, one which
might foreshadow what happens at the end without
showing it altogether. That way when it does happen it'd
be more powerful.
Your last 30 seconds or so are very touching, it's excellent.
