What Makes the Monkey Dance

Post by StarMasayume » Wed Jun 16, 2004 10:57 pm

For more details of how this amv was created, refer to the comments. ^_^ Completely random fun which you can hopefully find the humor in... The below banner is a "teaser" for it. ^__^ It came about in the spur of the moment at my friend's house and I just had fun with it. If you've seen Fushigi Yuugi, the more humor to you.

The most painless editing though sleep-depriving experience I've yet had ^_^;; It's totally screwing with my sleep cycle for this week. Started it in the afternoon and it kept me up until 8 the next morning... then the next two days I worked on refining it (at nights since the first time got me sleeping during the day.. the third day I only had 3 hrs of sleep in the morning---and all that with no coffee!). Hope you enjoy it and comments/opinions very welcome! Warning--this video was not planned, do not expect a plot. ^_^

haha, I got a few chuckes outa this. 1:25-1:33 = greatness ^__^ easily the highlight of your video. good lipsyncing on that part aswell.

overall the lipsinking is not bad, but could still use some work to make it feel more natural. Sometimes the characters are still flapping a bit too much for the word being spoken, though I admit it is hard to get that right due to the nature of the singers voice in this song.

For a quicky, excellent job.

and.... 83 megs is quite big.... for a 4 min video of this nature. The capture is beautifull, but I think with Xvid 1.0 and the new guides, and editing in 24 fps could shrink that down to about 50s-60s easily, and still look just as beautifull.

Thanks Bakadeshi :) Yes, my friend and I were laughing hard when we put that clip in place. ^_^

I agree the lip synching isn't perfect. I was supposed to go back home at 2 (took 2 hrs going back home, mom was planning dinner all that), and didn't get to leave until 4... all because I was finishing this up as fast as I could... so yeah, if I wasn't on such a tight schedule I probably would have obsessed over it a lot more. As it is though, it's a much better improvement over my first try in my last vid, so I'm satisfied.

>,< The compression was messing up and I was trying so hard to get it to go quickly so I wasn't holding everyone up for getting me back home.. premiere wouldn't export right, the internet off, all that. I couldn't understand why I couldn't get it down lower. I used the Xvid and went by the guides first-pass second pass... but you mentioned there are newer guides? Maybe that's why. And I didn't consider the fps. I'll definitely make sure I get the rest of my amvs to a lower size.

Glad you enjoyed it :)
