I started at 16 now I'm 20. I started using low quality clips from the net and clips from AMVs.
Though I did use clips from my own DVDs on my first AMV, cause I had a class to do it in. That ones stuck on a VHS somewhere.=/
Ive been a soldier for 2 years, so thats set back my development of amv creating. Oh shit im getting soooo flamed.
I went way off topic.

LMAO!!! good callKalium wrote:Of course, we have a number of younger editors on one end, and Vlad on the other.

i don't think age matter. Effort and creativity are the magor factors i think. I started 4 1/2 yeas ago durring HS, I was 15, now i'm alomst 20. Back then, i had the effort and motivation, but i lacked the skills to make a good video. Now i have the experience and skills but lack motivation.

I'm sixteen and consider myself a decent editor (though that wasn't part of the question). I've been at it several months now.
A hardened anime fan? What is hardened, exactly? I mean I do seek out anime to some extent, and have found more animes than other TV shows that I like, but there are a lot of animes I would never waste my time and money on. There are also a lot that I like. If you go through anime in general, I might like maybe less than 1 in 4, which is sort of filtered anyway, because I often don't watch stuff unless I've heard a recommendation, or I'm wandering around in a convention and it looks good when I watch ten seconds of it through the doorway. If I stick to genres I know I like, then it's probably close to 1/2.

I started when I was sixteen, and now five months later, I'm still sixteen.
Yes, I like stating useless facts.
As for being a "hardened anime fan..." I dunno. I remember watching Sailor Moon when I was seven or eight (but you haven't seen how much of a girl I really am until you see which songs I select EVERY time I play DDR). I don't really watch all that anime due to money shortage and pure laziness. I'm just more of a manga person.

Started when I was about 16. Not too long after I got the computer. My entry into the world of AMVs was nightmarish. I was using Windows Movie Maker on Windows ME... with 64MB RAM and 100kbs ASF clips I found on a website.
Good god it looked shite lol, but hey. My editing was more imaginative back then
Go figure...
Anyways, I don't claim to be the best, or the worst... just middle of the road I hope. Peace out, hope to have many years editing with the best here, and become better.
And also to witness the greatness
Peace out

If you're dead and burried, then we all missed your uber funeral AMV you said you'd make one day.Vlad G Pohnert wrote:Well, that must make me dead and buried thenMeriC wrote:I made my first video when I was 17, and now I'm 23. Ya know, I wasn't gonna make a "Vlad is old!" joke, but you did the job for me!
