Tenjou Tenge - School's Out

Post by Masimmune » Sat May 22, 2004 7:50 pm

This is my first AMV! It's the first full Tenjou Tenge AMV too I think. 4 minutes and 10 MB in size, and still sustains good quality. ;)

I just finished high school and this video sort of goes from arriving at school, making enemies and participating in tons of fights, then becoming friends and bowling together. lol So I called it School's Out.

Download page and more info

Please tell me what you think. The music is... weird. ^_^

I'm sorry but it can't.

This really looks horrible and... Full screen looks just like a bunch of pixels thrown into a mess.

To be honest, I tend to agree.
It's sad amv's are pretty high in mb's (easily rectified by the ever lowering price of cable and dsl), but it can't be solved like this.

Like the song though =o

It's all right. It is my first AMV after all.

You should not use full screen. This is why the file size is so small. :p It is to be viewed at it's original size, any larger and of course it will look bad.

See the thing is I (and alot of people) like viewing amv's full screen (hence file sizes). It really helps you get into the amv more.

is this why so many people don't encode at good quality? because they think full screen is not important? I watch all my AMVs at full screen. so do ALOT of other people. So yea, it is a big consern that you should take into consideration. Not to mention alot of people wouldn;t eve n bother checking it out if they see: "LENGTH: 00:04:01" and "SIZE: 10 MB" in the same description. Now, if you had srunk the size to something like 40-50 megs, thats a respectable size. Especially a video of this nature with no single frame effects, you can shrink the size by making it around 15fps instead of 24 or 30 by dropframe in virtualdub. Filters also reduce filesize AND make video look cleaner, since noise actually adds size in compression. cleaner footage = smaller size. read the guides for more info on that.

Also the quality is still noticably bad even in normal mode.

On the plus side, The anime looks interesting, and I like the music. Your editing is not that bad, but I would like to see more synchage to the music in general, make the AMV more beat driven. ya got potential though.

I view all my AMVs at full screen...that's the best way to enjoy AMVs.

In fact, I don't keep or download videos smaller than 25 MBs (or in .rm, but that's another story)

Besides, you couldn't enter a video in a con if it wasn't able to be viewed at full screen. :|

As I said before, large file sizes turn me off and I could care less about full screen. I purposely configured the video codec to reduce the video quality to 65% so that's why it doesn't look perfect, but in my opinion it isn't bad at all for size, length, my first try, and having created it entirely on my own without guides.

I plan on creating more AMV's like these for people with slow connections and little patience. The way I look at it, the longer I have to wait to download the video, the more I expect of it.

Thanks for the heads up guys.
