Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Thanks to you all for your kind words. I'm glad that my little experiment has brought some joy to this world.

What's weird is, I've been watching the star count ('cause I am insecure and need validation, ha ha) and I've noticed that there's a real dividing line on the ranking - either people love it or hate it. Anyone else have a video like that? I'd really be interested in seeing it.

Thanks again, to everyone who took the time to d/l it, love or hate. We do it for you.

My latest vid, AR seems to be like that. It started out as 5.0, and rapidly droped to 3.80s then climbed back up to 3.96 currently. leads me to beleive some people are giving it 5s and others something like 3s. Given I expected this, since #1 Ceres isn't liked by everyone, and #2, its dark, depressing, Epeliptic, effects heavy, and heavily story/mood oriented and romance all at once. Could be too much for some people ;p

I guess it's all a matter of taste. Needless to say, I'm probably stumbling into one of the major debates over the rating system - does one rate based on what one perceives is the overall artistic value of a video, or on how much one personally likes a video? Everyone's different - I tend to lean more heavily to the first option.

BTW, Angel's Redemption deserves to be above the 4 line, in my humble opinion.

Fun video with a great concept, and short enough that it's not hard on those with poor connexions. Video quality wasn't so great though, but full resolution is nice. :)

Well, for less than a minute, I didn't want to inflict a 178 MB .avi or a 54 MB .mpg, although I'm disappointed that the Expedia screens didn't come through to clearly - a lot of detail went into that. I changed my account so that noir appeared as the screen name, the dates were the dates around ACen, and I had entered info for two guests, one adult and one child. At least you could see the hotel name.

Um, the ghosting? I'm still working on that. Something is screwy with my capture card...

I rate my stars based on every aspect of the AMV, not sure about everyone else though. I break it down seperate and add up each category together. if you get an op from me, you get to see the way I do the stars. heres an example (that would show up in the opinion):

==========================================
Bakadeshi’s Star Rating on this video:

Concept, Mood, and flow: 4.0
Action Sync: 4.0
Lyrical/Story Synch: N/A
Scene Change Synch, Transitions, and Effects: 4.0
Video and Audio Quality: 3.0
Effort: 4.0

Total: 3.8 (rounded to 4)

Very in-depth. I'm duly, and dually, cowed and impressed! :)

Thanks to everyone who commented on BTC. And, if you're still watching the thread, please don't think me too much of an opportunist as I announce that naota's lament is now available as a local d/l.

There'll be another thread in announcements for comments.
Peace out!

I get good op's but my star score average is around 3.20 so 0o it all depends on people.

Some people just put all 2's.
