Strawberry Eggs, Return to innocence vid now up!

Post by Onyyx » Thu Apr 29, 2004 9:08 pm

Well one disaster after another including formatting my hard drives, version conflicts with AVISynth and the plugins. Hosting problems for my WIP and numerous attacks by small furry rodents...umm I mean my cats.
My Strawberry Eggs video is finally complete, I put it together with Enigmas Return to Innocence song which I think gave me alot of chances to illustrate the aspects of the relationship between Hibiki and Kuzuha.

Please come and download it, I think it turned out quite nicely, it was a welcome change of pace from my previous action type videos.

I'll be honest and say upfront, this is not my favorites of songs. Even so, I actually enjoyed it. Not bad at all. Your most powerfull feature is your scene selection, you chose very powerfull and emotion packed clips for your amv. lyric sync is good too. Especially grabbed my attention at the flashback scene at 02:32. brought back memories of the series, and I think you did a good job with keeping it full of emotion, Infact to me, the scenes outpowered the song. I actually found myself paying attention to the scenes and ignoring the song lyrics;p I'll Op this one in response to your post in my Free Op thread and go over the details there.

I recomend this vid to Strawberry eggs fans, its worth a look.

Okay, first I have to say that I know nothing about this anime, so I didn't understand the relation of the characters (especially the black-haired guy in the window - he comes out of nowhere). But the feeling is right, the scenes seem to go with the mood of the song. The part with the person in the bed (her mother?) was excellent, though it did last a little long for me (that last shot of her before the fade). Another part I liked was the shot right after that - with the little blue flower/leaf things blowing by, it just seemed to match up very nicely. There seemed to be some jitter in the slow pans, but other than that the quality was good for the small file size.

It makes me want to go rewatch some more dramatic videos (as apposed to quick action/funny vids) - I may not know the anime, but it sets the mood. ^_^

alright, I've seen the official trailer, so I know this about the black-haired guy: (this may be a spoiler but it must be early in the series anyway)

...he's the same character as the brown-haired woman, only disguised so he can work at a girl's school (I mean he dresses in drag with a wig and stuff to work there)

...but yeah, that might be confusing to someone who knows nothing about the anime

...at least if I remember the trailer right that's all true.

Hahahaha, since bubblehead has already burst the proverbial bubble, the black haired guy is indeed the brown haired woman, this happens in the first episode so its not really much of a spoiler. That scene nearly didn't make it into the video for fear of spoiling the show, I wanted to keep it as spoiler free as possible, but I figure you find out in about the first 15 minutes anyways, and that scene with the moon shots was nice so in it went. He does this to prove to the man hating principal of the local private school that men are indeed capable of the love and devotion needed to teach and care for students. (AKA this ain't GTO where he's just trying to get laid).

Its a really sweet heartwarming kinda story, I suppose it qualifies as a chick flick, but I don't give a damn. You really get attached to these people.

True that. I realy liked the anime. And you did a good job capturing the emotion in it for this video. Its definately a keeper. (I'm being slow with my ops... but I promise I will get to it ^^)

I liked it.
It's a one of my favorite "types" of videos, so easy in there, but I was surprised by the solid editing, and nice clean story.
