The Moment you've all been waiting for: AR premieres on org.

Post by Bakadeshi [AuN Studios] » Sat Apr 24, 2004 3:57 pm

Ok maybe few of you were actually *waiting* for Angel's Redemption, But Here it is for all who has. THis is my huge project for Otacon this year. If you are attending, wish to see it first on the big screen, then ignore this post ;p But since you guys are special like that, you get to see it first, right here on the org.

Any and all coments welcome. Information on the actual video is in the link, and theres alot of it ;p

Ah yes, Special thanks to: Madbunny, Pen-pen2004, JoyKiller, and Xenodrake for all their help on the WIPs and the Betas.

Big thanks also go out to Mazedude who is the author for the Doom2 remix used in this vid, for both alowing me to use it, and providing an uncompressed render to work with.

Enjoy.

I actually saw this one on the new vid section on the main page before the anouncement.

Anyways, I really like the changes you've made since the last beta. More parts of the video have somthing timed to that fast drum roll which is sweet. I also like the splashes of color near the end in an otherwise very dark video. More in my opinion.

Everyone should check out this video. It's one of the best action videos I've seen in a while and has wonderful mood synch to boot.

Nice video. Though I've never cared for Ceres and I still may never watch it, but a great music video. The music alone was worth the download.

Your editing is good but you seem to do what alot of us (including myself) do, and that is let the music dictate the visual beat of your cuts. There's a lot of drama going on especially at the end, but it's sterilized by overlays, flashes, and incredibly fast editing. It would have been much more powerful if you simply let the music carry the story. Instead it looks like you're trying to associate every musical keystroke with some image, and just ends up destracting from the narrative.

If you can get it into Otakon on time, and it gets past the pre-screenings, I'm sure this will stand out as a winner.

I agree. You did a good job. Right now the only thing I think I didn't really care for was that some of the white flashes were too white :P I think something softer on the eyes would have been better.

Anyways good job. : )

Yea the sync to the drum rolls at the end was actually something I ment to have in since the begining, I just forgot to put in, and later realized while watching the betas over and over again. silly me.

I agree, but this was one of the challenges I gave myself at the begining of the project, to see how much of the music I could synch to. So for this one, it was intended to be like that from the begining, but the next one I make like this will probably do something similar to what you said. It is also my first of this nature, so Comments like these on the concept I went with are appreciated. Thanks.

yay a comment from one of my favorite video's editors. Thanks, I also partially agree on the white flashes. I thought about toning them down, But I liked the sudden contrast feel they gave particularly right on "Anger" . Even so, since enough people complained about it, I'll probably try to make them more subtile if and when I do another one like this.

I should also probably corect myself in my previous post and say:
but the next one I make like this I will probably try to do something similar to what you said.

since as you said its a habit not easily broken ;p

And sorry for the Double-post, didn't see Corran's post till after I replied to the others.
