Only heard it not two or three weeks ago... (when the au region 4 DVDs were released)... I was expecting it to be a least half decent, considering how popular it is up there in Americaland... and well, I wasn't overly impressed.

I've only seen bebop in dub-o-vision. I think it's great (dub wise) and we know that most dubs (not all) suck.

No, there is no Cowboy BEEbop movie, nor series, and no mangas. BUT, there is a Cowboy BEbop movie. It is called Knocking on Heaven's Door.

And it's pretty damn good, too! It was nice to see it (fansub, yeah yeah) after watching the series. A little more Bebop...
I'm out...

An argument for dubbing.

Post by Daedalus Jubei » Sun Sep 01, 2002 7:41 pm

I know I am probably opening myself up the the contemptuous wrath of my fellow members, but I prefer dubbing. This holds especially true for Cowboy Bebop. Please allow me to support my argument. Unlike many of the other anime shows that I have watched, CB's mood was very American. I spent my youth following my grandfather's performances from jazz club to jazz club and CB was very reminiscent of that atmosphere. I preferred the smoothness of the english langage track and its comfortable fit with the mood.
On another note, with subtitled jokes I always find mysef missing out on the great timing and delivery. This is part of a good joke. When I am reading the subtitles I don't finish the punchline until after it has been delivered. I miss out on the enjoyment of good comedic timing. Before you say it, I don't read slow. Anyway, that is my argument for what it's worth.
