You know, I hardly come here because every time someone says something someone has to chime in with some kind of smart-ass or disparaging remark ...

I gotta call you on that ... I said this project is beyond anything I'VE done before, not beyond anything that's been done before.

And it's true, I'm not limiting myself to images at hand and I'm not using decorative editing because personally I don't like "decorative" editing anymore.

I'm talking about my approach to my project. Why do you guys have to be so sarcastic?

Now if I said "I'm going to blow you all out of the water with this amazing new revolutionary video" then you'd have room to say something.

Easy.. I do this all the time as of late.. but I'm not always re-creating a brand new animated scene.. that looks so different from the original anime. I started out doing this to replace some "crappy quality" scenes on DVD. Then it turned into a process that was so easy for me to deal with that I could use this process I created to re-animate and better control the timing in a scene... or make a new scene that did a better job of expressing the visualation and moment I wanted. My akitoman video is not the first example.. but the first where you might see a scene that doesn't look like it's exactly from the anime.. with a careful eye you might tell... in my latest video (on the .org; In Karou's Place) I have created new scenes entirely.. or took an extensing moment and renimated it to change the timing.. and took an existing scene.. and based it's animation on a new idea.. the moving pictures flipping.. the moving pictures on the table... a similar scene exists.. but I changed the content of that animation with what I wanted there.

The only difference is I'm doing this because I want to express the vision I see in my head.. not to catch everybodies attention and say hey, look at this neat thing I did.

But let me point out, I'm not picking on what Bill is doing, what he's doing is a step above what I'm doing and it looks good. =)

No, it's not. Be careful not to sound cocky by trivializing tasks that are invovled for anyone to do.

The difference from what? I'm not doing it for attention, and I'm not really even doing it to express an idea I have. I'm doing it because I love NieA Under 7 and Yoshitashi Abe's artwork. I want to experience more of it (via working with it) and try to present it in the prettiest, most unique way possible. You've seen this video and you know how it lingers on charcter shots and actually lets you see the art that went into Abe's characters ... I'm trying to frame that art and present in the best possible way.

Japanese class has killed my edit time. Pitt's program is really intense. It meets 5 days a week and a majority of it is participation. We have new kanji, vocab, grammar, and stuff every day and if I don't put in an hour or two the night before there is no way to fake it.

Last december I decided that I wanted to get back to it and do a video that encompased everything that I've always wanted to do and avoided the things I don't like. So when I had a week off around Xmas I went to visit my family, took my computer with me, and got to work. I'm hoping i can continue the momentum because I'm not ready to retire just yet.
