  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

I put it on the server because it is an AMV and I knew some people would like it. I'm sorry for wasting your time. Obviously you must have been mistaken about me. I'm just another crappy editor.

And I'm not bragging. I said I accomplished what I set out to do, that's not bragging.

And I was trying something new out. How many videos have you seen like this? There is no plot, no, because I tried to deal explicitely with emotion. So maybe I failed. Maybe I didn't.

I'm sorry if there's not enough sugar in your tea, but you don't have to drink it and piss all over everyone around you.

While I don't share Kamoc's fury, I do agree with some of his points. The flashing images did get old at some point (near the end, which is good that this video is short ;)), and the text really needed an outer glow of some kind. I found myself pausing every time a quote came up because I couldn't read it. However, the main focus and concept of the video is understood and is quite original from the amount of AMVs I've seen.

Simply put, the idea is great but the execution of it had crippling flaws.

i've seen that piano effect in your other videos cj. don't act like this is something completely different, because you and i both know it just fucking isn't. oh wow, the pictures went in sync with the music!

besides, this is nothing to get upset about. i'm trying to help you, but no, i can't even do that because whatever i say just doesn't fit up to par with what you want me to say. GOOD JOB CJ! YOU THE MAN! oh, please go and make some more topics about you being jesus so that it'll be easier to come to this conclusion.

and i'm not pissing on you, i'm telling you that your 'tea' sucks. take it with a grain of salt.

What makes you think my videos are about the effects? The effects are just a means to achieving the concept.

And you mocking me and my video does no good. I don't know what sort of delusions you're under. I know it was simple, repetetive, plotless, and not easy to see. I had two weeks, I wasn't going to make an opus. So I put in emotions. And frankly, I don't want your help.

you don't need my help, that's what i'm saying. i'm giving you tips. you choose to use them if you want to. if you don't want to, then just tell me to shut the fuck up. or better yet, ignore me. i mean, all you want to hear is praise, right?

then why are you trying to contest my opinion? i'm not insulting you. in fact, i complimented you. you knew it was lacking, and yet you insult me for being under 'delusions' because i think it's "not horrible"?

god, just let me dislike your video in piece without everyone trying to convince me otherwise. the only reason i said anything is because all you're getting is praise, and nothing will come out of that. then when you tried to pour over my original idea of 'pointing out flaws' with 'the shear flow of the video', i got a little upset that you'd be so inclined on thinking about why your video rocked instead of why it was lacking and what could be done to make it better. i know that's it's only my opinion of what's wrong with the video in the first place, but why the hell else would you make a topic for the movie if you didn't want opinions? i'm sorry mine wasn't one you wanted, but i'm not going to let you get away with this egotistical smorgasbord.

If hurting me makes you feel better, you've got an entire thread to yourself to do it. Have fun.

Kamoc, I think it's the way you say your opinion, with harsh sarcasm and bitterness, that makes everyone want to tell you off and take up an arguement against you.

First of all, I didn't even bother reading the text. Secondly, while the images may pop on and off the screen really quickly, doesn't mean they're not related. The human mind can process images fast enough to flip through a book with nothing but images that have the same relation and meaning and determine that meaning without ever really understanding one of the images you see. For example, you could flip through a 400 page book of war images in under 3 seconds, and you'd be able to tell me that the book is, at the very least, about violence. if I gave you another 2 or 3 seconds to comprehend the book, you'd be able to tell me exactly that it's about war.

The same concept applies to this video (actually, it applies to soul of an angel too, but that video has a mildly complex idea behind it thats incredibly hard to grasp overall.) and it was done nicely. I wish I had the video here in front of me, so I could go over some of the concepts, well, actually, I don't, because if you didn't see or feel them, then thats your problem.

oh and secondly... I think.. maybe thirdly, whatever...

Kamoc is just voicing his opinion on the video. I didn't see any fury or udder (utter?) hatred for this video in the majority of his posts, so I think you all need to back off a little. Time to grow up people, and realise that not everyone is going to like every video, and not everyone is going to 'get' every video either.

I've taken some pretty heavy critisizm for my "Battle of the Mind" video from people who didn't understand what it was exactly I was trying to say, but you know what? I realise that everyone is wired somewhat differently, and not everyone is going to fully grasp a concept or what I'm doing. Face it, with a community 10,000 strong, you're going to find people who just don't like it, and want to give some opinion on how they might like it.

I have yet to see the video that EVERYONE enjoys, and until I do, you all need to back off this holy crusade of keeping these creators 'protected' from constructive critisizm.
