Holy crap, time and effort

Post by billy_wires » Thu Feb 12, 2004 10:10 pm

I was just righting ops, and I came across something that intruged me. I was looking at the ones I have written, and they seemed to dwarf other ops for the same video. I thought so what, and moved on. Then I found the most usefull list, and clicked it. Holy crap, and I thought mine were long. I'm 45th on the list. I think I found who I will ask for reviews later on. :wink: The top guy is insane. Over 10,000 words for some. I could never be that thorough. Ever.

Just keep in mind that *some* people get to the top of that list by copy and pasting song lyrics 60+ times in one or two reviews. I've seen those reviews - the list itself is a little untrustworthy. ^.~

Anyone with more than 30 reviews and over 2000 words is probably a copy/paster rather than someone who got there with legitimate reviews. It's easy to find out if the people on the top list have reviewed the same vids you have. ^_^;;

And Xeno - I do mine for free. :? My usefulness isn't up there with MJ yet, but I'm working on it - up a few points with each op given. ;p

I haven't seen you do any op exchanges...did you just stop? I do them once in a while, but not often.

But you know if you want reviews, you can always take me up on my offer in the op exchange section - probably not much I can help you with, but it's free feedback. ^.~

Meh, I'm like number six or something. I don't write ops often, so I try to do a good job on them.

Welllll, if a picture's worth a thousand words, and an AMV is 24 FPS, and four minutes long... ;)

/obviousjoke

I admire people who can actually find that much constructive stuff to say. I never know what to say in ops. "Durr, me liked. Pretty music, moving pictures." Which is why I hardly ever write them. :oops:

Heh, that's just what my reviews were like until I got one from SSJVegita0609 - he wrote a detailed one, broke it down into categories, pinpointed his favorite parts (time frames so I could see what he meant), and then pointed out the problems in the action sync (again giving the times - I'd never really thought to pause and do that). Getting his review really made me think about what sort of things to look for when writing them.

But there's always the guide for reviews on the main page - I found that a few months back. ^_^;; It would have been helpful if I'd read it when I first started.
