Yeah, this was one of the first videos that got me to enjoy sentimental/dramatic videos. I guess you could say it influenced me, because that's pretty much all I make now. ^_^;Fungie½ wrote:The first one that I think hit me the hardest was Misty Caldwell's How Do You Let Him Go. When I first saw it, I was at the Otakon pre-screenings and I just started crying. I'm not entirely sure why, but it was just so amazing that it really did touch me.

Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

That's been my experience recently. Only thing to make me tear up was a video I worked on but didn't finish this past summer/fall.Beowulf wrote:I've never cried watching a music video, but I have sniffled once making one of my own.
The first videos to really change my mood and saddened me were Lord Rae's Eva and X videos. I'd never seen emotion in a music video before so those caught me off guard (wow, to think that was 4-3 years ago).
Only thing that makes my eyes water nowadays is def Euphoria. I can't resist that song and anime.

oh my...that poor doughboy.
anyway, videos have made an imapct on me too. sometimes it just provides an escape from the world. you get caught up in the music and you don't think about what was bothering you. sometimes the subject of the video tells you that it canbe okay. when watching my own videos it's a bit easier to regain those feelings because i know why i did the video in a certain way. when i watch other videos it's what i make of the video. some i know i have laughed when i really shouldn't but i makes me feel funny. so to answer the question yes.

Videos that affected you...?
There was one video I watched that caught me off guard and made me cry (I wasn't exactly stable at the time, though) - 'My fading voice, your distant heart' by ShonenDizzyCow.

Ozzie Arcane's 'The End' left me feeling nostalgic (namely the context of the video and anime used).

Anneke's 'Suichi's Question' *never* fails to leave me grinning (whether I'm depressed or bored - it never fails).

Beowulf's 'Imagine' left me feeling uncomfortable (not quite depressed, just not at all good).

And there are a number of amvs for the Kenshin ovas that have left me sick to my stomach - at least one made me physically ill, but I never rewatched it, so I don't remember which one.
Most of the videos that affect me only do so because I'm already set up for that emotion - or because I have some sort of emotion tied to the video itself (the context - a fondness for the anime, a dislike of the anime, a past experience with the song). Watching my own vids usually affect me a great deal depending on what I went through when I was making them, and my feelings toward the stories/footage/song.
The only videos that affect me regardless of my personal feelings are the fun/comedy vids - with those it doesn't matter if I'm happy or sad to begin with. If they're good, they'll make me smile.

I've seen quite a few videos that have made me think that Dragonball Z or Cowboy Bebop are even worse than I originally thought. I'm really starting to hate Final Fantasy as well, and I used to love those. Does this count?OmniStrata wrote:Have any of you actually felt/thought differently after watching a certain video? hrm, the video that's gotten me closest to tears would be Tunak's Lullabye.
Kwasek's A Thousand Miles never seems to fail in amazing me either.

I'm not going to mention any specifics, as I don't want to piss all over another creator's hard work, but I've had a couple of times where I've watched a video I downloaded and the video did so little to match the song, or was so badly synched, or was otherwise flawed in a way that made it nearly unwatchable, and after viewing which I've had a hard time listening to the song again due to the fact that the video comes to mind the instant the song comes up again...Anyone else had a similar experience with a video before (as I said above, no specifics out of respect for fellow creators)?
