Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Yes, it is a very good dramatic video. So much so that you have to be in a certain "mood" to watch it. And it helps if you've seen NTHT (which I have - really a disturbing show).

Cosmetically, it's fine - editing, sound, vid quality - all ok. The subject matter is a little tough for me to get into (yeah, I'm one to talk). Your presentation is good; it's a perfect match to the song. It's really good. Not great, but well above average.

My "reluctance" may be because I'm not an Iced Earth fan & I'm really burned out on all this politics and war. The strip effects didn't seem to do anything for me.
I'm not sure whether to be happy or sad. :?

Either way, thanks for watching and giving your opinion. ^_^; I didn't think people would react as well to this one as to my last, despite that it's a little more consistent.
Well, the best way I can descibe it is that....you've presented a well constructed piece, and it works for what it is and does in expressing your "ideas". That doesn't mean it's horrible, nor does it mean it's exceptional - it simply is a very respectable video. I can't subjectively offer an "I love it / I hate it" critique because (right now) I don't have any personal preferrence to it.

I just "enjoy" it for what it is...what and how you had to say it.

There are a lot of things (music, books, film, anime) that don't require a solid bias of like of dislike. It simply is and I'm glad you made it.

That makes much more sense, and thank you very much. ^_^

Don't you just love first impression critiques?
It always feels like sticking your foot in your mouth. (which leaves a bad after taste, yuck).

Well, opinions (and beliefs) change over time; they are not set in stone as most people tend to think once you say something or set it in print.....{as in the case of the STRATOVARIUS "soap opera" that's going on - are you following that shit? funny!! :lol: }

So, maybe somewhere down the line this video will have a different impact and meaning for me, in comparison or in referrence to something else. (i.e. I took a look at Beowulf's Imagine video. I can see where you got your inspiration)

So......um, YEAH!!! I think that's all I can say about this (whew)!

Lol, no, I haven't followed Strato for a while. Even though I'm still meaning to pick up Elements pt. 2. :x

To be honest, that video was just the inspiration for this video in particular. But this video was the inspiration for me to be sure to put a lot of time into what I do decide to make.

Thanks again, your opinion means a lot to me.

Personally this video doesn't capture me all that much, the concept and scene selection is nice and refreshing. But the one thing that bothers me is the editing, and thats like 70% of my likeness of most videos. Its a little too random for me, all these effects and tempos were being thrown out at you with no real order to it (this is based off of one watching)
I was hoping for some more organization of the numerous parts of the song. For example, the beginning was a repeated tempo, but the editing was just catching random beats here and there and pretty much changing all the time. Maybe because I'm just picky, but thats how I feel. The effects were a lot more organized but they wern't all that interesting, didn't impact the moment as well as it could of. Overall if you knew the anime and liked the song this could be a nice video. For me I don't know story of the anime, and the song was just a normal listen. Since everyone has different opinions mine probably means nothing.
