Which works nicely for this vid since the boys are 15, and the relationships are not more physical than lending a shoulder to lean on. I call this one shonen ai rather than yaoi because it is just about the emotional relationship. If any physical is implied, it would definitely be on the lightest level. ^.~paulrowe wrote:Thus, this gives me the impression of a boy/boy relationship. In similar fashion, as juveniles are not expected to (nor should they) have more involved interpersonal interaction, it could be applied to "light" yaoi relationships (those that don't cross certain lines).
[Just keep in mind that when most people use shonen ai or yaoi it doesn't have to match the literal Japanese kanji definition - no more than the use of the word 'anime' does. For fanwork (whether Japanese doujinshi or foreign fanfiction/vids) shonen ai = male/male romantic relations and yaoi = male/male physical relations which may or may not be romantic. That's just the way the words are used. Sort of like using lemon to denote a sex scene in fanfiction - the word doesn't mean the literal translation of a yellow sour fruit, not in this context. ^_^;; ]
