but as the show moved on, I was more and more impressed with it. Lots of nice ubtle things going on in the show. I love the fact that somethings were going on just below the radar... and suddenly it hits you what you're seeing.

(Like the Milly/Wolfwood relationship)

I felt the ending was strong. I don't think anything felt unresolved.

I think it's a great series...

Gotta love that Wolfwood (ep 23 is the best in the series if you ask me)...

As for those of you saying its a shallow series, were you paying attention? There's so much metaphorical social and environmental commentary its not even funny. Granted, you don't get much until the 2nd half of the series, but I still say its one of the most emotional animes out there.
The best effects are the ones you don't notice.

I've already seen trigun all the way through 3 times, and I never noticed the commentary you spoke of, it will be interesting to watch for if I ever see the show again. I keep hearing that people like the 2nd half better. I never got emotionally attached to the characters (except for wolfwood) and I was pissed off at how the series "handled" him near the end. It just didn't feel right to me. Other than some unpleasant emotions, I didn't really feel too much during this show. Calling Trigun shallow is a little much, but I can see their point.

I still liked the show for the challenges it put Vash through, mainly not killing the phsychotic comic book villains who came after him. The first two episodes were very funny, and for me that established Trigun as an offbeat action comedy. I kind of wish Trigun had stayed on the lighthearted path and ended up like Outlaw Star, a very good comedy action series IMO. Of course thats what I wanted, and if what everyone else wanted was a dark gloomy action drama then Trigun is your anime.

Trigun is good.

The characters are well done and I felt the filler was on the most part nessecary because it was there more or less for character development.

Trigun is an okay anime, after experiencing the hype it is kind of disappointing.... :?

True i havent seen all of it...im just up to the episodes when you see bits of Vash's past including Knives.

That part is starting to get really interesting and i enjoy watching it. The first half does seem to be a little all over the place and didn't really hook me into the series.

Yes it does have action, and humour with a little bit of drama...but many other series offers that to and in a much more how should say 'more polished' way. There is nothing really special about it... its not something i could take seriously..at least so far :?

Trigun is getting to be more interesting but for gun slingin action...humour and slight drama i believe a series like Cowboy bebop surpasses it.

::kicking self:: I saw nearly every freaking episode late at night on CN...EXCEPT THE FINAL EPISODE!!!!!! I totally MISSED it!!! Anime Sensei II (who I have dubbed Wolfwood) thought it was hilarious...he laughed at me for quite some time...the jerk....
