Promotions for VCAs

If you think a video/creator deserves an award but doesn't have enough popularity, post a link here. This is to help out the lesser known videos.

You can promote your own or anyone else's works, just make sure:
- It was created between Jan 1 2003 and Dec 31 2003
- It is relatively unknown
- It has a shot at winning an award

Hello? Hi! It's me!

I think I deserve a chance, since I sorta DIED between 2001 and 2003, a 2 year gap of worthless creations. (However, my 2001 video 'Project Obake' DID get an honorable mention at Anime North 2002 (And I found out I recived said mention 13 months after I was givin it. >.>)

So, what have I done? I created something to compete for The Best Trailer catagory.

And no it is not anither Matrix trailer, I used the 4min 30second Animatrix trailer for the series of short films, most of which were very much unlike the matrix. I desire nomination.

Isn't the point of the VCA forums for this type of shameless (self or other) promotion? I think it might be wiser to just wait till they are up before posting anything. To be honest, I imagine people will just forget about the videos in this thread when it's time to vote.

Maybe, Maybe not, but i'd like to see some lesser known but great creators get a nod or two, and if this helps them, why not.

But as I just stated, I think it will do nothing of the sort since the VCA nominations are quite a few weeks off (hell we haven't even decided categories). If anything, people will pimp their videos, people *might* watch them and then come the VCAs they'll just have to pimp them again since people tend to forget.

It seems more efficient to just wait till the proper forums are up for this sort of nominations. If anything, I'd get a bit annoyed if I saw the same shameless self-promotions over and over again in multiple forums. So, maybe it will have a negative effect on some nominations towards said creators. I'd like to think I'm above such an annoyance, but we are, after all, human.

Regardless, feel free to do as you please. It was just the opinion of one person.

I don't think a lot of people know/remember that Phade will make a forum for VCA shout outs once the whole nomination phase begins.

Does he do that yearly? And are the old forums for vca's still available (archived) somewhere, or do they get cleaned out after the contests? And I'm hopig it will be explained eventually, but how long do people have to get the vids they vote on (for the slow connections) before the final votes are counted?

Phade does do the VCA yearly. You can check out the 2001-2002 year and 2002-2003 year on the Member Main Page.
