Three days can be 45 hours (or more for some who don't need the usual 8hrs sleep). I don't believe it takes 450 hours (a month) to make a good amv - even the best most perfect astounding entirely original amv in the world. I'd hope almost anyone would be able to animate 4 minutes of footage from scratch in under 450 hours.Jebadia wrote:.....it depends on how hard you make it for yourself. If you just crank out a hack job amv every 3 days, I can see why it wouldn't be too hard. If you come up with something that will require detailed work and long nights of tedious and sometimes repetitive editing methods.
As for the question - some people say it's difficult because if it weren't...then they'd have no excuse for not being great at it. So long as it's something only those who'll put a year or two into (5400+ hours), they can say "I just don't have the time to devote a few years to 4 minutes of footage". It's the same reason you must be rich to make a good amv - because if it were cheap then everyone should be able to make them. This way, you have a great excuse. I can't make great amvs because I don't have years and thousands of dollars to blow on 3min 58 sec of viewing pleasure. I can't afford Premiere so I can't make great amvs. I can't afford to buy every anime in the world, so I can't make great amvs. It's just far too difficult for the average person.
