If Auska was blonde...

Yeah, its stupid complaining about hair, since if all animes and all characters had black hair that would be stupid, even stupider if it was all blonde.The color of their hair makes it bettter some characters named:chii
(chobits), sesshomaruu(inuyasha), faye(cowboy bebop), inuyasha(inuyasha), rei(evangelion), misato(evangelion*i think i did misato right*), Seras(HellSing).

There is alot more but those are some common ones, so just think if all of those had black hair?!

I never noticed Auska's hair was kind of blonde in the manga...

BTW, I like her red hair so don't take it the wrong way...

WORST POST EVER. Whenever someone brings up the Aryan race in an anime forum, you know some one is on drugs.

Asuka's hair is red/orange. I should know, she KILLED me!

The manga says the following about about Rei:

Albinism:

One explanation that has been offered for the unusual appearance of the first child, Rei Ayanami. Albinism is a genetic defect; the heriditary inability to produce the pigment melanin, which, in different combinations, is what gives the human skin, eyes and hair their different colors. Rei's bluewhite hair, pale skin and red eyes (the red color of the undelying retina) are all highly symptomatic of albinism.

There has been the strong suggestion that the children are either the product of genetic experimentation or have certain "natural" genetic characteristics. If this is true, the Ayanami's presumed albinism could be either an "acceptable side effect" or "acceptable defect", considering the overall importance of her job. It is interesting to note, however, that while Albinism necesarily results in sentive skin and eyes, Ayanami appears to wear no specific protection for either. She has been observed to be taking some kind of medication, however.

And in the manga, Asuka is a blonde. It's just one of the many changes in the manga script, or rather the Anime script, which is last minute reworked version of the original Manga script.

The manga DID came out afterwards, but it's based on the original script, which has been heavily editted and reworked by Anno. Which is why it's so different, yet so similar.

The manga said THAT about Rei? Uhhh who is running this so-called "manga" (LOL I absolutely love Sadamoto's manga but it's not exactly accurate, nor is it ment to be, I'm guessing this is the english manga though, since the english manga is weird like that...)

Rei's hair is not bluewhite, it is BLUE. You can't exaggerate characteristics so that you can put medical terms onto her. White skin does not = albinism. Also, Sadamoto said he gave Rei red eyes to give her a poweful stare.

Maybe they changed the animated version as to not offend anyone. You know Aryan race = Nazism = Hitler. That could offend some people who are sensitive to that. So maybe they left it the same in the manga because it is a much narrower audience than an animated series...

But that's just my mind reading way to far in between the lines.
