That or go with my editing method: explosions, invert, and additive dissolve flash.

Well there is the tech end, such as capture and such that I think matters, but I agree about the use of format.

Want a good rant? how about OP trading? I tried it, but it seems that every time I had something neagtive to say, someone had something negative to say in return. And every time I gave a vid a glowing review, I got one in return. Almost like they didn't like the scores they got so they didn't give my vids a high score in return.
Now before anyone says "OMGROFLWTF OP WHORE!!!!"
I can take constructive cricicism, the BIGGEST tip off that I was just being spited was that they didn't have any constructive criticism, the vid just "didn't feel right" or "didn't apeal to them" or "wasn't quite good enough". Vauge comments made in passing without factual information or comments on specific flaws in the video itself.

But I cut the op trading out, I was doing it to get and recieve constructive criticism, I got what I needed from a few honest people (thanks to them by the way.) and moved on.

I've seen that. ^_^; But usually you can spot those people ahead of time - they tend to warn "you won't get a review till I see the one you gave me" or, "be warned that I may give you a harsh review in return if I don't like the scores" - (only one has been this bold, but it happens). You can always try the free reviews if you want feedback in the future (though you do say you've gotten enough so it may not matter anymore).

I admit that I'm influenced by the reviews I recieve - not in op exchanges (I rarely have time for them now) - but if I get a very nice review (nice as in, sweet person/kind/fan/etc) then I'm likely to be very positive when I review in return. I still point out just as many mistakes as I would for someone I hate, but I try to be very nice and 'helpful' about it since the person had a nice attitude in the review he/she left me. The scores don't change one way or another, but my approach to pointing things out does. I just think someone who's very nice to me deserves that same courtesy in return.

Then again, for flame-type reviews I tend to be very 'cool' - almost analytically polite. ^_^;; No warmth for that person. The scores don't change (again), but my attitude *does* reflect how that person reviewed my vids - I can't really help that.

Idiot reviews come and go...

That's just the way of things.

I look at it this way, if I recieve a bad review, I look at the person's little collection of videos he/she has made. Heck I'll view some of their stuff.

If I find that the "bad reviewer who hates my gutz0rs" can't even edit to save his own life, then by golly why would I care what he/she says? (there are some awesome reviewers who don't have amvs, but hey, their reviews are good so ^_^)

bad review - n. amv opinion that has a ridiculously low word count and stupid consistencies [straight 1s for instance] many errors, typographical and what not, incomplete sentences and just plain stupidly written... ^_^

Yep, I'm grateful that I haven't recieved too many of those. I rarely get vengeance reviews. [I wonder why? ^_^] Still, by not recieving many idiotic reviews, you are not one of the 1337...

It's the best amv editors that recieve the most flak and trash from morons it seems to me. I'm not good (don't recieve idiocy) so I just sux0rs

I really can't blame you for getting upset about a vague review. In all honesty that sort of thing ps me off too. For instance today two dbz fanatics (member names Super Vegeta and edivad90 ) chose three of my amvs and decided to give them all 1s. The reason? "Because it wasn't BDZ and is shit! LA CIOLA!". He meant DBZ. I looked at their profile and all their favorite videos were dbz music videos. Nothing else. Each review said the same 3 word insult. It's really a pain when you work hard on a video and it hits the top ten percent and reviews like this screw ur average and take it down.

I emailed them and they replied with just mindless insults and spanish phrases. I contacted Phade about it. It's just really a pain to have to deal with this sort of thing.
