As far as Trigun goes, when I first started watching it, I thought he was going to get through the entire series, or atleast most of it, without firing his gun more than once. Not killing, but ever actually firing his gun, since I am pretty sure in the first DVD he doesn't use his gun a single time (though he does fire it in the intro)
Look at all my trials and tribulations

Actually... when I saw the first episode of Trigun, I just didn't understand why people liked it so much. I mean... I didn't dislike the first episode, but I didn't forsee myself liking the series.
Of course, now I'm also a big Trigun fan.
When my friend showed me the first episode of Evangelion, I didn't think the show was going to be that impressive... although I did think the animation was very good for a TV series (which is why for a short time, I thought it was an OAV)
Needless to say, Evangelion is one of my favorite anime titles of all time.

There are two kinds of people in this world:
Those who divide people into two kinds of groups
and those who don't.

lol suprisingly, i thought Azumanga Daioh would not be very good at all before i saw it. When everyone kept talking about it i expected another let down like hellsing where its so hyped up that when u see it its just not as great as it supposedly is to everyone else. But then i watched it and it is ..God itself.

When I first saw episodes of DBZ I had no idea what was going on and I just thought it was stupid. But then I used to watch Toonami as sorta background noise while working on the computer and the more episodes I saw of it, the more I started liking it. I didn't TRULY appreciate how good DBZ was though until I had actually watched the whole series all the way through.
The first anime that I actually ever liked was Tenchi, and again, at first I didn't like it much but after watching a few episodes in a row, WOW, I was just hooked. After watching Tenchi is when I really started to examin the world of anime, before that, I dunno, I guess I just never gave it any thought cause I don't recall ever having any sort of opinion on it. *shrugs* Kinda weird...of course on the flip side I don't really recall much of what "I" thought before I uh...well you know, became more. I have memories, but I have no recollection of a sense of self or anything.
