That's why I didn't have too much footage of Front Mission 3 in my Squaresoft video. I wanted to include more, but I didn't find much usable material. Although it is rather interesting to see a video made with only Front Mission footage, the lack of scenes seems to be a problem here. It was pretty neat and had some nice timing, but it really didn't have much to show. It's interesting that you focused on the bomb, but for a game like Front Mission, it might be better to focus on the mechs, but then there's the problem of footage. I guess there weren't too many FMVs that included the mechs, but there were some in the intro. Anyway, it's still good to see a Front Mission video.SkullEosis wrote:Yeah it is a little short, but the source footage was pretty much non existent. Only about 15 minutes worth of fmvs or so.

JG squeezed a 3:30 min, award winning vid out of 25 minutes of source footage.SkullEosis wrote:glad you liked it. Yeah it is a little shirt, but the source footage was pretty much non existent. Only about 15 minutes worth of fmvs or so.
You can always try harder.

The amount of video from a source is not always directly proportional to the amount of usable material. Where as in your example, you have an anime with characters, action, and emotion that is shown throughout the scenes, there is a large percentage of that footage that can be used. In this game, a lot of the FMVs weren't very good at telling a story and often seemed a bit random and sometimes pointless and boring. There really wasn't much to use here unles you go into the in game footage.dokool wrote: JG squeezed a 3:30 min, award winning vid out of 25 minutes of source footage.

Story telling is reading a book : /.AbsoluteDestiny wrote:Storytelling is a 5 min video from a 10 min anime
But honestly, how many amv's do you know actually tell a clear story, I mean if you're gonna look at it like "well, it's a bomb and im telling the story of the bomb" then everythings story telling, me sitting here writing this is story telling :/.
Have more footage makes it easier, having less footage makes it a Biotch (see to-treasure in my profile :/) take it from a person who does 99.9% of his videos from an hour long (or less in case of to-treasure) source footage.
Then again, nice video

Yeah also if you saw the source you would see what im talking about. There was hardly any footage of the mechs maybe 2 minutes 40 seconds worth. Most of the fmv footage was of the MIDAS explosion and of the car sequence with a few others thrown in. There was maybe 3 mechs in all of the source footage. And i could have tried harder and still ended up with the same thing because it wasnt alot to work with. Like was already said there was no emotion at all in any of the clips.
