I honestly think the english dub sucks royal monkey cock. Not so much because of Shinji, but because of everyone else as well. Shinji is almost one of the better voice actors there ... he has that whiney voice that makes you want to rip off his arm and stab him with it.

Auska was done by satan ... so was Kensuke or whatever that military geek's called. Both of them cause my ear drums to bleed when i'm forced to hear them.

Evangelion, while still a ver in-depth anime where character development comes first, is still based on the Evangelions. Hell, without the Evangelions the series wouldn't have been created...in fact pretty much everything revolves around them.

I will definately agree with you on the Asuka voice in End of Evangelion. I remember watching End of Evangelion on a fansub, and I remember the voices so filled with emotion, two examples are Asuka's reawakening and Misato's speech to Shinji. The dubbing compared to the original is just . . . flat and boring and doesn't move me as much. The only reason why I liked Asuka's dub voice during the series was because she made Asuka the German she is. Subbed Asuka cannot pronounce German at ALL and I was very impressed with the ad-libbed German Tiffany Grant provided. But dassit. That's one thing that kinda bothered me about subbed Asuka in the series. She seems like the kind of character who would make sure EVERYONE knows she is NOT Japanese. I suppose she doesn't really have to, considering her flaming red hair and caucasian blue eyes.

I agree that the dub sucks, they could have done better. Wait MUCH better
I am only tolerating it in english because hearing it all in a language I understand helps me to understand it better. Once I understand it I will only watch it in japanese. I think the only tolerable voice in the dub is Kaoru's voice.
