Anyone else a victim of AMV Harassment?

Post by BishounenStalker » Sun Nov 02, 2003 1:28 am

As in, when an AMV will NOT leave you alone no matter how hard you try to tell it that you have no means (or time) to edit it yet? To the point where you can't listen to the target song with a straight face anymore? Or am I the only one?

If so, what are some of these ideas?

In good Netiquette form, I'll go first.

The two projects I have planned, hopefully to be done in time for MegaCon 2004:

Evangelion -- "La Resistance" -- South Park Movie OST

One Piece (Zoro profile) -- "Zero to Hero" -- Disney's Hercules OST

Anyone else?

There's already a La Resistance vid set to various, isn't there? Lostboy's, IIRC.

Yeah, there is. Downloaded it a while ago. But I see so much twisted potential for lyric synch and cast conversion with Eva that I absolutely CANNOT ignore it.

Just because it's been done once doesn't mean it can't be done again.

I have a few of those, but many I'm not going to reveal because they'll most likely be finished for con season next year. However, when I first looked at this, I was thinking of something different: An AMV someone has done that people won't let them forget. I know dwchang has two. First off, everyone (<--Generalization) spooges over Evolution, esp. for it's use of piano keys. Then, there's me, who frequently tells him that his first video, Believe In Me, is superior to his Otakon Romance winner, Glory Of Love :P

You know, I've never seen any of dwchang's video. I feel horible. But I have so much other stuff on my plate...

Like the nine Short AMVs for Short People tracks...

Good lord. ;_;

But harrassment, oh yes I've had it before.. It's called "The Fanel Fate". It was a great idea I thought, but half way through I HATED editing it. But it wouldn't leave me alone so I finished it anyway. I even when as far to do rotoscoping in MSPaint for it(Which looks rather good, actually; but it's nothing complex)...

Now it's sitting on my harddrive, waiting to be put on a CD. You know, I never realeased it online...(distributive, wise) but I DID say people could IM me for it...

... No one has. Now I'm kinda glad. ^^;;

1) No, cause I'm NOT insane.
2) No one is allowed to steel it? LOL, and you plan to inforce this how? (tip: If you don't want ideas stolen, THEN KEEP THEM SECRET!)

The one I'm working on right now doesn't seem to want to leave me alone. Perhaps it's because it contains a lot of firsts. It's the first AMV I've made which uses footage from more than one source, and it's also the first to be done to the song I'm using, and indeed to the band who sang it.

But I've had insomnia lately, so the need to keep working on it isn't much of a problem. Time is one thing which is in surplus for me ATM.

Actually, there's 6 vids using La Resistance right now...the above-mentioned, two using EVA (not online), one using Mobile Suit Gundam, and one using Now And Then, Here And There...it's not all that big an issue...at least, not if you compare it to the hundreds of videos using 'In The End' or 'Bring Me To Life'
