Calling all berserk fans. (amv premiere)

Post by kearlywi » Mon Oct 20, 2003 3:45 am

For berserk fans I have a new AMV: Entitled Reflections of Glory.
I have recieved good (to enthusiastic) reviews from both friends and by people at this site. If you are really into berserk's interesting and unique character development style, then this vid is for you.

There are two versions, the MS-MPEG version is the prototype, and the XVID version is the superior and modified version (that I just now posted)
Be sure to leave an opinion, it seems its hard to find people who have seen berserk (all the way through) and as a possible consequence I have only gotten 3 reviews so far (score 9.67, as of now)

If you want to leave a comment about the AMV, the direction I took, or the anime itself, feel free to leave a post here. I'll probably respond quickly.

And, by the way, the donut rules don't allow to have two different versions of the video posted. :?

I'd suggest to contact Phade to have one of them removed.

Nice vid man, the one and only good Linkin Park + Berserk video I've EVER seen (and I've seen MANY). Though there are some stuff I disliked, but I wont get into many details here. I'll try and drop an OP when I can.

Once again, good job!

theres the link to the download page.

One of the more common complaints (about my AMV)is that some of the action moves TOO fast. I am a believer that too many AMV's crawl at a snails pace. The definition of a bad AMV to me is one where you say "OK, OK, we get the idea already!" It was my goal to avoid that. It was also my goal to avoid senseless action and spoilers as much as possible, and if they were used, I used them tastefully and quite sparingly (I hope you all agree).

Thanks TokyoU15 for the seeing it. I hope a lot of people see it, even if it means some people hate it. I understand that Linkin Park is an unpopular band (for AMV's) and a lot of people avoid them like the plague because they are made by unoriginal "artists" and generally are devoid of meaning or taste.

Oh and if PHADE should read this thread, please eliminate the MS-MPEG version. Please keep the XVID version. I only used the former compression method because for a little while XVID was "misbehaving."

Downloading now.

Scared the shizat out of me when I saw that it was a Berserk video to Linkin Park. I just finished one 3 weeks ago, and I've been trying to upload to the donut ever-since. Dumb 56K.

I'll be sure to leave a review when I get it downloaded.

I only picked a linkin park song because it fit berserk perfectly. I understand that when most people hear "Linkin Park" they run screaming for the hills. I don't think I'll ever make an AMV to them again, not because they aren't a good band, but because it will be difficult to get opinions and an audience.

That being said, don't be afraid, the amv doesnt bite.

well im a huge Berserk fan, but i hate Linkin Park with a passion, and for that, unfortunatly i cannot watch your video, however good it may be.
To me any LP cannot fit berserk at all, considering its a love story, unlike any/all LP's songs with is usually about some failed relationship where they were treated like crap or used or some other BS story thats been heard already.

Linkin Park is like a vacuum, whenever they release a song they press the "on" switch and start sucking.

I'd just like to say two things.

Berserk has some love. It is not a love story. Saikano is a love story. Berserk is just...a story. The finest one ever told, in my opinion. Generalizing it down to a love story is insulting.

Second, dismissing a video based on the choice of song is not good, at best.

Anyway, Kearly. I've been trying to download it for two days now. 56K keeps disconnecting. But I'll get it eventually, and post my review then. and btw, since the Mpeg version is possibly being removed...Should I post my review on the Xvid?

Thanks!

yes berserk is a love story, if you are just refering to the anime then i can see why you can see that is isnt. but if you follow the manga it is at heart a love story, a very tragic one.

how can you say it isnt a love story, from the point that gutts joins the hawks its the start of his relationship with caska... dont get me started.
