They spelled it right, and it's not on the FAQ last I checked.
Mocking people who are new = the new version of kicking kids on crutches?

It would have to be. I haven't seen a boldfaced 'motherfucker' in a really long time.fyrtenheimer wrote:I hope that's sarcasm, jackass.

As for the question, ditto what Sarah said minus the layered sarcasm - any tme you get a rush of people who have the same question, they'll ask that same question not realizing others are wondering as well - then, after 5 or 6 do it at the same time, it becomes an over-asked question. Coincidence, not proof of increasing ignorance and changing trends when it comes to new questions.

It's increasing ignorance when someone posts a 'can I join a studio?' thread, and on the same page there's a thread looking for people to join a studio. Granted, it doesn't always happen like that, but it was the most recent example.Arigatomyna wrote:Coincidence, not proof of increasing ignorance and changing trends when it comes to new questions.
Everyone is not the same as you.
Get over it.

Indeed. It's only a coincidence when the threads are posted at the same time. And when 4 or 5 threads of the same topic are posted at the same time, that really is quite a coincidence.FirestormXIII wrote:It's increasing ignorance when someone posts a 'can I join a studio?' thread, and on the same page there's a thread looking for people to join a studio. But honestly, it's not like people are becoming more ignorant, there are just more people total. There is probably still the same percentage of "accidents" (reads: to lazy/ignorant to check if a similar post has already been made)

Well, I *should* have said 'coincidence when they're all wondering the same question at the same time' - which is what leads them to all come forward asking that question at about the same time (within a few days of each other). But yes, posting the question when there's another thread 4 posts down the page is pure laziness (or ignorance). It's still a coincidence that they had the same question and decided to ask about it on the same day (week).
But someone did say this, right? There isn't a sticky post about joining studios? At least we have guides/sticky threads on downloading things so those who bother to search can find the answers for themselves. If the new people don't know it's a commonly asked question, they may not think to do a controlled search of the 'general amv' board looking for the answer. [This doesn't save the ones who post the same questin 3 posts above another one - that's just laziness, no excuse for that.]

But yes, it is annoying to post another thread about something that was just answered. I don't blame people for not knowing it in the first place, though.

I'm gonna side with Mina and Sarah on this one. People here are incredibly uptight about questions like "How do I join a studio?" or "How do I download videos?" I guarantee that quite a few people here didn't know how to do it, because I was one of them. Don't make fun of new people, because you were new once too.
Perhaps a "guide to animemusicvideos.org" section should be added, as it seems many people have had trouble making their way around the site.
I like to be as friendly and curtious to the needs of others, weither they be new or old, but this is just mean. You wasted a minute of your life making this post. (shakes head)

Agreed. It doesn't hurt for a few questions to be repeated so often, I can understand getting a little annoyed at it but seriously... it's no big deal. I wish people would take a closer look at existing threads and actually seek out the answer first, but people are lazy. I'm one of the laziest people I know, I'd like to be able to ask a question (that I haven't seen the answer to) without fearing backlash from "respected members" or even other newbs. I made the mistake of asking about KC waaaay back when, and I almost didn't come back. The only reason I did was because of people like Misty and Scott Melzer who were kind enough for tolerance and patience. I'm not necessarily the nicest person when it comes to greeting newbs, but I try not to make light of their difficulties... at least not without some indication that I'm joking.Fungie? wrote:I'm gonna side with Mina and Sarah on this one. And Fungie, there is a guide to the Org actually. Many people have it in their sigs.
