Apparently it was just IE... the site came back up when i tried to go by clicking the link again, rather than just putting in the url.

The links are ftp:// and not http:// links. IE is outright retarded when it comes to them. It tries to log in many times simultaneously sometimes and doesn't always log out, so limits on simultaneous connections and such could have been stopping you ...
