Is this actually... safe?

Don't get me wrong, I love sharing ideas and all that, but... if I put an idea I have here, what's to stop someone from beating me to the punch and doing it themselves before I can get my act together?

I mean, my group have come up with literally hundreds of potentially workable ideas and we'd be happy to share the rejected ones, but when it comes to the ones we actually want to do... maybe I'm just paranoid.

I've come up with ideas for funny AMVs, action AMVs, romance AMVs, even ecchi AMVs (okay, one) and I've even worked out the ONE anime which would work with Celine Dion's 'My Heart Will Go On' (and I think it would make a fantastic AMV too) but I'd rather not discuss them unless I know that these will remain MY ideas. Even just a simple assurance that it's okay and people here won't rip me off is good enough.

Hope I don't seem like a wanker for raising this issue.

You put ideas to suggest to OTHER PEOPLE in here, not ones you are going to do yourself.

Really? Oops. I thought you could get ideas you were thinking of appraised here; like "that's a brilliant idea" or "what the hell are you smoking to come up with that?!" Is there anywhere on this forum for that kind of stuff.

If you want to run your idea across the people, you do it here. Just don't be upset if someone else snags it as well - if you want to make sure the idea doesn't get used (except by coincidence), don't share it with anyone but close friends. There's no rule here about not using other people's ideas - many won't do it on principle, but a few would so if you're concerned about it, don't take the chance.
