The weapon monsters from final fantasy 7, now I feel stupid for not being intricate enough in my post.

Ah! The weapons monsters were a little ridiculous - added those in just to make us nuts. >.< I never could kill that darn one in the sand...and I really wanted an extra gold to breed at the time, I had to go and make another the hard way. Dumb monster.

No shops in FF8? One of the GF's should have given you free access to the shops anywhere on the world map - in the information menu. :?
Or maybe it was just with the weapons...it's been a while since I played...

Yeah, the tonberry king was a pain to get. :? All those little tonberries, and each one was like 2 or three rounds from Diablo before they died. Rotten suckers. But he's really worth it for the shops - especially toward the end. ^_^;; One thing I can say about FF8, it sure made it hard to get some of the GF's - the only comparison I can do for FF7 would be the summons materia that required specially bred chocobos, and even that was easier than getting Eden... >.<

FFVI for it's great characters and innovation, FFVII for it's plot and optional quests, and FFIV for being my first FF; and also for introducing me to true drama and stories in video games. Ever since playing IV for the first time years upon years ago, all other genres of games seemed small and tasteless.
