Dai-Osaka Rap - Short, fun video

Post by Ashyukun » Fri May 23, 2003 5:57 pm

Dai-Osaka Rap is a fairly short, quick video I put together as my backup Otakon submission. Since WLtFO will be going to Otakon after all, I'm going ahead and putting this up now.

It casts one of the minor characters from the Battle Athletess TV series as Chris Tucker's character from The Fifth Element, Ruby Rhod, using the "Ruby Rap" from the movie soundtrack. Not high art by a long shot, just a bit of fun and wrongness. :)

I was kind of dissapointed that it didnt involve Osaka from Azumanga Daioh. because, she is comedy gold. :D But, this was still quite good. Fifth Element has been one of my fave movies for a while, and Ruby Rhod's just so fun to watch. Some parts couldve had more cuts instead of just sitting there as he lip synched (mainly 1:42 - 1:58). But, other than that, cute, short, sweet, made me smile :)

I wholly agree, Daniel... that's the primary reason WLtFO is going to Otakon and not Dai-Osaka Rap- though I'm pretty much certain neither will win anything, I think people will enjoy WLtFO more than this.

AtomX- Heh. Sorry, I can see how the title could be misleading WRT Azumanga Daioh. The reporter, Kanonji I believe he is, is Osakan like Osaka (and Yanagida Ichino, who he wants to be covering most of the time). The ending section was where I had the most trouble... there just wasn't anything good I could think of to do besides the long lip-sync there. :? Glad you liked it overall, though!

(AtomX @ dwchang's)

Yeah ive seen BAV and am familiar with the Osakan reporter and I got it when I read the description. Just, from the subject title in the forum, I was like "OOOOO Azumanga video"

Thanks Lyrs!

Sorry for the confusion guys- I really didn't even thing about the whole Azumanga thing. It's an amusing idea though... I'd love to find something fun to do with Osaka in the future, she's just too much fun...
