Escaflowne Romance Video - Glory of Love

Post by dwchang » Mon May 19, 2003 11:12 pm

This is a very simple romance video about Hitomi and Vaughn's relationship. I know it's nothing spectacular or flashy, but I wanted to make it anyway :).

Glory of Love

It was my entry to ACen's AMV contest and was up for Best of Show and Best of Theme although unfortunately did not win.

If you liked "Believe in Me," you'll probably like this video since it's very similar in concept. Hell Koop called it "Believe in Me 2.0." Also, if you like Escaflowne romance videos.

I hope you enjoy it and I'd appreciate reviews with constructive criticism.

Honestly it's my favorite Escaflowne video :P

And I'm not just saying that cause you're my friend. It really hits the spot when it comes to Hitomi and Vaughn.

First off thanks a lot!

Secondly, sort of a request, but please go through the local link *if you can.* I know some people can't, but if you can please do. My bandwidth is getting hammered and probably will be quite a bit slower.

Thanks again!

Damn I was going to reply "You're just saying that because you're my friend."

Regardless...favorite Escaflowne video? O_o I think Fluxy is going to reply to that one with his "Devotion" video..^_^ Either way thanks a lot!

BTW remember when you were talking about at ACen you'd have two (maybe 3) videos that you helped out with. It's even funnier b/c now you've not only helped two videos, but rather two of the three videos for Best of Show :).

I was really impressed with the video, as well. I'm a fan of the song, but most videos I've seen tend to drag on with the slower aspects of the song; yours flowed as if it was originally meant to be with the song, which is something that I'm seeing less and less of, these days.

I really liked the timing in the video, on top of everything else. The subtle sword clashes on "beats" to go with the rest of how it flowed was really nice.

It fit beautifully, looks gorgeous, and will be watched on a regular basis, I believe :D.

I appreciate your constructive comments. Feel free to drop constructive criticism as well in either a PM, post or review (that's assuming you are shy and dont' wanna say it outloud :-P). It'll only make me better. :-P.

Either way, thank you for your kind words. I like this video a lot and am glad people seem to think similarly :).

Hehe I know! Did they show the bumpers/credits on the vids?

It's my goal to make myself popular by getting my name in the credits of as many videos as possible :O So then the chicks will be like "OMG IT'S ATOMX HE WAS IN THE CREDITS OF REALLY-POPULAR-AMV LETS ALL MAKE OUT WITH HIM!!!" :D :P

Forgot to mention, I'm glad you noticed this. As an editor, I've noticed in this video that I've matured. There is of course shameless lyric sync (can you blame me, the words are powerful), but at the same time I tried to use the music (and as you put it "flow") to make the scenes that much more powerful. I'm very glad to see people are seeing (or rather hearing) that.

Thanks again!

Nah no bumpers were shown :(. Although it makes sense since it makes all the entries equal (no bias) with all of us having the same title cards. I hate to say this, but my bumper seems to always get good reactions (which is why I made it).

So you'd rather just be on the credits of popular videos then make them..bah! You make good stuff, wouldn't you rather have your own fangirls.

BTW I swear to God, I think I tripled my fangirl count at ACen. Oh and you read my LJ post about ACen and the...sex starved groupies? I'm not lying about that...O_o

Oh also hate to break it to you, but I'm not popular (or this video) yet :-P. I guess my ACen Iron Chef victory may help at say ACen, but that's about it. Not that it matters, I am happy with the video and don't make it for that sort of stuff (much to the chagrin of the groupies...who were actually pretty cute..too bad I was burnt out from Iron Chef) :-P
