kthulhu wrote:Just as a heads up, you HAVE to feel really sad and declare Grave Of The Fireflies to be one of the greatest works in the world after watching it, NO MATTER WHAT YOU THOUGHT OF IT, or else UncleMilo will "take a stand against your drone-like, hive-mind, brainwashed stupidity" and oh so OBVIOUS lack of falling into his line of thinking (which is a mortal sin!), and proceed to kick your ass (or get all emotional and crying, which is far more painful yet hilarious).
He'll also make insulting, elitist statements about how he is so much above the rest of us "intellectual trash", since he metaphorically holds the crystal of life in a Tiffany glass spoon or something.
Just so you know ^_^ .
You know... I am very glad to read that this is the best insult you can come up with.
God damn that Uncle Milo for knowing things!!
Screw him because he has knowledge!
Fuck Uncle Milo because he gets upset when dumbshits go around making racist, egocentric and hatefilled remarks!
Wow! Uncle Milo has the nerve to get upset when someone else mocks the suffering and torment of others!
You know what, kthulhu... you've made my day.
Seeing how I speak out on issues while all you can do is speak out against me, it just makes my day that much brighter.
As for Mr. Oni... we all know from his posts that he is a racist, a homophobe and centers all his judgements on his own narrow viewpoint of the world.
I can at least sit here and defend every statement I make.
I can at least write at length why I feel the way I do, why I have the opinions I have and why I reach the conclusions I reach.
Reading your posts, it's very easy to feel elitist/superior/whatever term you'd like to toss my way.
Reading your posts, I am glad to see that you don't even know the english language that well. This would have to be my assumption since you have so blatantly posted a distortion of what I have actually said.
I have NEVER said that Grave of the Fireflies is one of the greatest works of art and that you HAVE to like it.
Personally, I do believe that it is an excellent movie and I think it is one of the more poweful pieces of anime to come out of Japan...
however...
All the angry statements I have made were aimed at the comments that Mr. Oni made about the kids deserving to die... and that the citizens of Japan all deserved to die from fire bombing and the like because they had the nerve to live in a nation who's leaders attacked us.
I consider human suffering to be horrible... and while some think that killing children is OK... just so long as it's not American children... I consider the empty headed thinking of such hate mongers to be attrocious... but that's because I was brought up by parents who believed in the ideas of ethics and basic human decency.
If my views are so bothersome to you... well... so the fuck what?
I consider the views of Mr. Oni to be reprehensable as well and I have no problem saying that, because I live in a country where I can speak my mind.
Mr. Oni spoke his... it is his right...
but as the old saying goes "Everyone has a right to their opinion and my opinion is that your opinion blows donkey."
and... as another old saying goes "A walk through the ocean of most souls will scarcely get your feet wet."
Thanks for your shallow insights.
Gives me another chance to truly appretiate how lucky I am to be me.
