Well THIS is surprising....

Post by BishounenStalker » Wed Mar 12, 2003 1:17 pm

As much as DBZ might've sucked as an anime, I'm actually quite amazed at how good the music is. I still have the "Never Ending Story" 2-disc set I bought three years ago, and just recently dragged it out. It actually IS good. I'd say I like a good 75% of the songs on it (which is more than I like on most albums). Even some of the slow ones are really good.

Just a weird musing....

Good how? I've noticed like three songs throughout the whole series. Battle song 1, 2, & 3
"And now you will shed tears of crimson."

I mean image songs that were never played in the series. All animes have 'em. And a couple of my favorites were the ending themes to the Trunks and Bardock specials ("Aoi Kaze no Hope" and "Hikari no Tabi", respectively). A lot of the songs on the CDs never saw screentime, sadly. Would've loved to have heard "Unmei no Hi" in the series somewhere. Or even "Kimi ga Hero" for that matter.

Cha-la Head Cha-la!

You know, the Japanese soundrack to DBZ is really quite good, and the Original DB soundtrack is great also!

Unfortunately, I have to say the American music makes me want to break my television, and so does all the voice acting. I mean really... when Gohan is a child he sounds like he's been smoking for maybe 40 years. :roll:

The Trunks Theme on the Japanese soundtrack is quite kick ass \m/>_<\m/

Dude. "Unmei no Hi ~Tamashii tai Tamashii~" is played during one of the most pivotal scenes in the entire series: at the end of episode 184, when Gohan goes Super Saiya-jin 2 for the first time.

"Kimi ga Hero" is the closing theme to DBZ movie 6, " Gekitotsu!! 100-Oku Pawâ no Senshi-tachi."

I HATE the music, sound effects, and dubbing Funimation does. It all sounds pre-packaged. But I do have the DBZ Pioneer OST. It do have somegood stuff. ^_^

Curses, curses, CURSES! WHY must I be too po'-ass broke to afford DVDs or a good internet connection?! And WHY must idiot English dubs change the freaking music?!

Unfortunately I've only seen movies 1-3 (in English no less ::dies::) and movies 11 and 12. And only a smattering of fansubbed episodes (maybe 10 total) -_-;;

Actually, I like the music in the dub at this part, too. That siren thingy in the background sounds so cool to me :)
