My video for AWA (and NYC) - Breakdown
Hi! This is a video I made for AWA PRO. It later won Judge's Choice at Anime NYC. Before I finished it, I had no idea the song "A Thousand Miles" had any relevance in the AMV community. One day, I was listening to my iPod on shuffle, and when that song came on, I started thinking about Your Name. When PRO got going, everyone was like "OH HE DID THE MEME HE DID THE MEME" and I was like, I did? Anyway, it's by far my favorite video of mine and you can be sure I'll enter it into every competition I can until next November. Also, the name "Breakdown" comes from my many conversations with BioticAMV (Vicky) about the betas of my video. She taught me how the section where everything goes nuts in the song is called the musical breakdown, and that word was probably used 1000 times over the few months I was working on the video.

I have watched this a few times. It gives me chills each time. It is soooo well done. The imagery fits the song well and the song itself fits the original movie extremely well too, you managed a trifecta as it were while keeping it fresh and engaging. The transitions/mixes are great. This video is so good it almost makes me want to not make another one as I could never be near as good, but yet gives me a target to strive for.

There are few AMVs I have to this song, but none are as good as this. Definitely a keeper. It not only fits the movie very well, but you did an excellent job with the internal sync on the significant piano key strikes.twigglyfiggly wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2019 5:27 pmHi! Audio has some wobbles though, both on the downloaded file and the YouTube video. Listening on my Bose QC35IIs.
