And people wonder why I have no self-confidence. When it seems like your physical appearance is at the butt of every joke about relationships, you kind of give up on having them. Furthermore, you get less and less motivated to bother changing the way you look because you've become jaded into thinking that personality doesn't count for anything anyway, and why would I want a relationship that's just based on something as fleeting as beauty?

Also, unrelated to this rant, Ileia makes a wonderful point. I have seen so many guys just give up on getting to know a girl because she wasn't sexually interested in him, as well as guys who have broken off all contact after a break up. Yeah, I've had guys that I've been attracted to, and for one reason or another (usually because he's taken), I know I can't have him, but if he was worth dating, then why wouldn't he be worth friendship?
