Re: (DZ Studios - Blood Sugar Productions) Wilt
Honestly, I didn't really care for it. It probably doesn't help that Brand New is my all-time favorite band, so I have my own vision for most of their songs. It just kinda felt like a really run-of-the-mill Evangelion video. Dramatic scenes paired with the slow portion of the song, action ones with the heavier part, and with no obvious conceptual thread running through them - it felt blase to me. I've seen it done so many times. The editing was solid enough, but there wasn't anything that really jumped out at me as being original or all that interesting, especially for an Eva video.

I completely understand your reasoning and issues with the video, Ben. I know it doesn't bring anything new to the table, I simply liked the combination and decided it would be fun to work on. It's all good buddyCrackTheSky wrote:Honestly, I didn't really care for it. It probably doesn't help that Brand New is my all-time favorite band, so I have my own vision for most of their songs. Like was said, there isn't exactly anything tremendously new here, but the editing was pretty solid and the video was enjoyable. So, huzzah!

Hey I thought this was pretty good. It had just the right type of Progression I always look for in AMVs
Now for the one thing that ruined it for me: It used Eva.
Don't get me wrong, I love the series to death, but there comes a point when something is so familiar that it lacks freshness. Now, I know this is going to sound like a gimmick (but it's not), if you used a more obscure/less known anime, this would have been so much better because it plays on the viewers curiosity (that's something I just noticed in Ingow's last vid too)

Yeah, I know Eva isn't the most original source out there, but it's what I had to work with at the time.
