Now not saying that was feasible this year but next year assuming there isn't some weird legal issue that comes up, one industry (someone who produces/makes anime or one of the staff) one Celebrity(VA/artist) and of course one amv editor this will diversify the judging. Kind of like how there's mutable favorite categories for the AMV contest.
Oh, yeah. I remember the second year of Iron Chef at AWA, when Dave from ADVision emphatically announced to all the attendees that speaking as an anime distributor, he loved AMV's. Should we get a representative from another company next year, I wonder what they would say.
Considering this is AX, probably, "We hate hate AMVs >:|"

Kinda random comment but the two funniest moments for me from the IC was:

1. The Guy who asked about what would happen if you used an Anime about the DIVX logo :asd:

2. The crowd fucking up during "Senpai says". I got flashbacks to the Cab Calloway concert scene from the Blues Brothers.

If the explanation followed the victory announcement, the suspense might last longer.
Wouldn't that make the critique afterwards pointless then? I know on Iron Chef that they critique it before they decide the winner. These are AMVs but I'm just throwing this out. |:>

I don't see how. Really, I wouldn't mind if there weren't critiques at all (especially in this case, where all three gave very similar reasons). However, if the judges explained their choice after selecting a winner, the audience gets a feel for what makes a "choice cut" without knowing who won before the judges "deliberate".

As for industry guests, I'd say maybe Kyle Hebert or Vic? Both enjoy AMVs to my knowledge and I'm pretty sure there is a certain someone on the IC board who has certain connections....

Monica Rial has guest judged on an Iron Editor or two, gets pretty into it, she's fun. Monty Oum was scheduled to be a guest judge once but instead he kinda crashed an AMV tech panel, handed out copies of Dead Fantasy and then left >_>

I'm not against the idea, but I can't say that I see this as being the kind of event that they'd be best suited for or well received at. For some reason I don't really see AMV folk as being their audience (and speaking as a former guest handler, I can't say I think too highly of the audience that follows them). That's just my gut reaction, mind you.

Kyle's a cool guy and loves amvs. I even did a video for one of his Akon panels.

Vic Mignogginakjfalef (sp?) would probably take over the event and promote himself. :x

I don't think you're pronouncing it right.
