Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

DSM-IV 295.3

Post by godix » Tue May 25, 2010 11:57 pm

If this video works as I wanted it to, then a description isn't needed. If it does not work, then no amount of description can help. Either way, I'll let the video stand or fall on it's own. I suppose I should mention that there's a lot of cursing in the video, but somehow I doubt anyone really gives a shit if this is kid friendly or not.

that was sad...

I wouldn't call it an "amv" but as a piece of visual and audio "art" (more so audio) i thought it was great. I think one could close their eyes and still feel the full effect of the video. by the time it was over I felt rather uncomfortable in my own skin. I think you did a great job on the audio and even the small imperfections in the recordings still work out well.

There wasn't meant to be any.

Thank you. You're right, it's not even close to AMV. A large part of the reason this took me years to do is that there are no other videos like it, so I wasn't able to analyze someone else's video to see what worked. In the end that was probably a strong point, but still annoying to work on. The other part being I'm not immune to the discomfort, I wasn't able to work on this more than half an hour or so at a time really.

I understand the effect you are going for here and I must say I think you succeeded in it. The vid didn't really effect me at all, but I think it was still a pretty creepy video and in a way could be seen as some kind of horror video that to me would be better then most because it is quite creepy.

Either way I enjoyed it, even if I find it a bit too boring to watch more then once.

Though I'm not above showing it to others in order to see their reaction |:>

This was fantastic, but I don't ever plan on watching it again.

It was an interesting watch but this kind of schizophrenia usually starts from bullying at a young age and the person copes/absorbs it all. I liked it but some plotline before waking up would have made alot more sense not that its possible with lain or anything.

Well anyway it was interesting though I can't say I enjoyed it. Most people with schizophrenia don't experience voices THAT frequently, If I had (preteen experiences ftmfl), I would of ended up being suicidal or succumb to madness. Usually the timing is sporadic or when your emotionally distraught.

I think you could of downplayed the voices quite a bit and it would have had alot more of an impact on the parts where it was important like during the school, people's stares, and the guy on the street. You could have increased the voices alot at the end with the peoples stares for a crescendo effect in intensity as well leading up to the /wrist part.

Schizophrenia usually involves voices trying to persuade people to deal with problems (usually in a wrong way, sometimes murderous) not constantly subject them to social status torture. I've never heard or seen anything like this before but I guess it could happen in the case of bullying at a young age and just absorbing it over time or someone who is a stage beyond worrying about what others think of them.

Anyway quite the thought provoking vidya you got here. Wasn't really creepy to me though.

"The people cannot be [...] always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to [...] the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to public liberty. What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned [...] that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."-Thomas Jefferson
