The video does not follow the storyline of the anime. The trailer tells the struggle of man against the aliens.

but even with expectations aside, it's a pretty strange combination and it was edited nicely but the story/concept/theme was hard to figure out. Without keeping the AMV title in mind, the little blurb in your announcement and the Alien egg at the end of the video (which felt kind of random), I just thought this trailer had something to do with a world war or something.
So editing = nice
