All that comes to mind is Air, with someone's mother dying, I know theres some sort of flashbacks involved.

I haven't even seen that series.
I'll post later if I remember any others, specifically with both parents dying, anyway GL

Wasn't that pretty much how the whole Ayashi No Ceres series began? As I recall, the father pretty much got killed right away, and the mother soon afterward.

A bunch of other relatives got killed too. The familial blood flowed pretty freely in that series.

First episode of Gundam Seed Destiny. The main character's parents and sister are killed if I remember correctly. I can't think of any others at the moment...

Code Geass as well. Zero's mother was murdered. I forget which episode had the actual footage of her lying on the ground covered in blood.
