Everything else (cept a few minor things)

Duly noted, thanks for your suggestions, there actually weren't many effects I added in...besides some saturation/brightness adjustment in a couple of scenes, and the overlays, the most I did were transitions/reversal/velocity adjustments...I suppose most of the non-crossfade transitions weren't needed, only one I actually liked (and even that may be more to my personal taste) was because the transition went in time to the flow of the words...BurningLeaves wrote:I dug this for the most part.. Song definitley fits.. LA video thrown in.. no. The only part of that where I thought it kinda fit was during the running compilation. That part where you have Gwenyth Paltrows bitch up in the clouds was just really bad imo. Reminded me of something from muppet babies where your watching a cartoon and all the sudden boom random LA... Or live action cow from drawn together.. Can't tell which... Moving on. Your story was good and I think most of your sync worked, wasn't keen on the effects... EF is really a stunning anime (visually) you don't really need to add anything to it. I think during that end scene I would have like to see a softer type of overlay as opposed to the divided screen shot things.. you were doing. But most of what I like in videos boils down to the emotion and the story line, both of which I really liked here and you did a great job with. Your scene choices were right on.
he means that you wouldn't have to do much work and it'd all just fut together perfectly without a hitch.spk1983 wrote:Well I don't blame you, I love how your video came out, and it did take out a bit of wind from my sails after seeing how yours had come out, considering I had started this video one day before you had put up yours....so I knew there would be comparisons done with yours. I know mine pales in terms of editing technique though...
I don't get what u mean by pretending that the animation will edit itself though...
That is probably one of the problems here. Don't try to emulate Jay. This is one of the biggest issues with AMVs today. Koop is innovative, and doesn't try to follow anyone else. And he's good at it. He's both skilled and lucky. Trying to emulate him will fail. Do your own thing, do your own experiments. With competence and luck you will suceed. I am pretty sure I know Jay well enough by now to say he would agree. In fact, he may be along shortly to do so.spk1983 wrote:I've watched Paper Image A LOT of times, I think I was unconsciously trying to emulate that feel in this video, still a ways off...but I have to say that I've felt a lot more satisfaction from doing this AMV as opposed to my 2 previous ones...I'm trying to tweak this, make it a little simpler, but as you said Kionon, it's still quite a difficult task.
I won't throw in the towel just yet though...
