I already made a Pro video. I'd have submitted it by now if the rules were up :|

Hey I don't mind waiting for the rules. Give me more time to finish my next project. :P

I've got a number of videos in the works, which ones I finish when and which ones I'll submit I have no clue about yet.

I'm totally up for Awwwwraid round 2!

The rules aren't up on the AWA site yet? I checked there sometime in May, and I remember there being rules and deadlines, etc. for the 2009 contest being on the site. Did I not read carefully enough?

You sure that wasn't for 2008? The rules from last year are still up.

The deadlines are all in August right?

I was wondering about the Masters contest, could that also be a collaboration between 2 people or just one editor?

Usually the deadlines are:

Expo: August
Pro: July
Masters (or SAS): August

Okay, gang.

For those that have tried to contact MC Wagner in the last 3 weeks, his pc went X_X and his access to internet at work is severely truncated.

We're still hashing out submission guidelines/rules as we've been carefully considering all the remarks from last year to this year. Don't expect too much deviation for Expo, but standby on the others and we should have this by the end of the week.

Submission method wont change much.

If I can manage to pull myself out of the two year editor block that I am experiencing, I am hoping to submit and attend. Not sure what categories...probably just expo.

Note to my fellow editors. Here are some things never to do that will help ensure that you never stop making AMVs.

Rule #1 - Never start playing World of Warcraft. (I have like seven level 70 and up characters)
Rule #2 - Never breed. I have a two year old.
Rule #3 - Never start making live action videos. I have become the neighborhood AV nerd for everyone that wants a wedding video, graduation video, retirement video, memory video, etc. It eats your soul and kills your muse.
Rule #4 - Never allow other people's awesome AMVs to intimidate you. Niotex and Nostromo make me consider macaroni art as a more viable medium for artistic expression, given my level of talent compared to theirs.

So, I will make a good faith effort to submit a video this year at AWA. I should be able to attend with no problem.

One of the things noted was there were some folks who were confused about the roles of each of the contests and the types of videos or work effort that should be applied.

So what I'm going to help do is make sure theres a dialog on each of the contests we have to make clear its direction.
